I have been kicking around getting an air compressor for AGES. They have always been too small, too shitty, or more than I want to spend. Last night I pulled up my local FB “yard sale” group. A nearly new 33 gallon Craftsman compressor, air hose, tool box (containing what looks like your standard air adapters), a paint sprayer, and a framing nailer...$100!!!!
Picking it up this evening! My tire pressure is going to be SOMOTHERFUCKINGONPOINT.
fart
I asked on the discord but what are your “must have” air tools?
I’ve already got a sweet cordless electric impact, so no need for an air rachet. What else? Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tools!!
Update:
Wowowowowow. everything is nearly new or is actually new.
Sorry me Larson

A plasma cutter!

The only air tool I’ve used where an electric counterpart can’t cut it is an air hammer.

I got rid of my compressor and i t was the best decision I have ever made.
I still have some air tools still if you’re looking - all work and all cheap!

After an impact I’d say the next most often used, for me, would be a cutoff tool and then an angle die grinder.

That’s an epic score. Wow.

Nice find!
I tried for a while to integrate a CO2 canister into my off-ro ading setup, and during that brief window of time it came in handy: we were using a new trail at a state recreation area that had some metal cabling in the path.
Rather than leave the cable there to wrap around someone’s axle, I happened to have not only my canister but also a cut-off tool that I bought just because HF had them for cheap, on the principal that it might come in handy someday.
It was a little rough: the flow wasn’t really sufficient to drive it reliably, but it worked.

Yeah after I got over the “deal” I was well this will be a really nice “inflator” to have around and it will be cool to have the nail gun.

Good call! I have only super small, small, and medium duty cutting tools.

I have a Milwaukee electric impact with a cord. I LOVE it. I haven’t met a nut yet it wouldn’t bust free.

Comes with one, I bet it’s shitty though. Definitely looking to do some painting with it though.

Other posts indicate that she is DUMPING whatever is in the garage. I’m coming with extra cash

Hm, maybe a needle scaler if you’re removing rust? I typically use my compressor for inflating tires (presa + schrader) and having a really good blow gun is invaluable. Most everything else I find battery tools to work as well or better.

Sounds like a great idea. And, take your truck...

Yeah my best pal turned me on to the corded impact but before I could get one my wife bought me a really nice cordless one. I actually lol’ed the first probably 200 times I used it. I still smile at it.

Ooo good one. There isn’t much rust on my 02 but there will be at least some minor rust work when I decided to paint it.
Def getting an inflator for the bikes.

Missing my Ranger about now. My wifes forster should handle it. It’s close so if I have to make multiple trips, no big deal.

Nail guns are definitely nice. The only tools I had were a ratchet (that was given to me and wasn’t that great), impact gun, and a air hammer. The air hammer was great tool - and cheap! It was one of those things that I used more than I thought I would - it came with a couple pickle forks and some flat and pointy hammers.

Air chisel. Great for driving rusty bolts out of slee ves.

My wife is PUMPED on the nail gun. We’re constantly building stuff for the garden/chickens. I always set her up with two drills, one to pre and one to send the screws in...a nail gun is still twice as fast.

Nice find! I sold my big compressor recently as I just didn't use it. My battery powered tools are kick-ass.

That should just about deliver enough air to run a small sand/media blaster setup. With all the really great battery electric tools available now, about the only things I want a larger compressor (nice score, BTW) for are sand/media blasting, a plasma cutter, and maybe an air hammer and/or scaling hammer.

I've owned that same air compressor for almost 20 years now. At the time, it the most compressor I could buy that still ran on 120v.

That is a mega score!

They’re not sexy, but don’t underestimate how handy it can be to have a couple different sizes/pressures of blower nozzle to clean stuff out.

Can’t believe it. She said her husband bought it all, built a deck and never touched it again. Even the air hose that came with it is super nice.

Yup, plan on getting one of those long thin nozzles it came w the rest

An air chisel so you can use this gadget. There are other vendors that sell similar gadgets.
